I may have unlimited bandwidth, but I don’t have unlimited time and energy to keep answering the same questions.
About Me
My name is Marc Siaw (蕭). I’m an intersex Malaysian-Chinese man from Hawaiʻi. I own a parrot who is my absolute lifeblood.
I’ve been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil, and the same goes for writing. I started to learn front-end web development when I was twelve years old — I wanted to run a webcomic. It was my huge, lofty “end-goal” dream right up until I realized just how much work it would be to maintain, hahah.
Personal
- What are your pronouns?
- I don’t explain them to strangers, sorry. Anyone who does not know me personally must use my Chinese pronouns if they’re to refer to me (see subheader 《代詞》).
- Do you speak any other languages?
- English is my primary language, but I will gladly do my best to chat in ʻOlelo Hawaiʻi and 福建話 (Hokkien Chinese).
- What are some of your interests?
- I like vaporwave & electronic music (and many other genres), Dwarf Fortress, tabletop role-playing, speculative biology, theropod evolution, ceramics, front-end & accessible web development, cooking, birdwatching, stargazing, architecture, and character design. This isn’t an exhaustive list, though.
Commissions
Payment
- Do I have to pay upfront?
- You may, depending on what you’re ordering. Any commission involving any physical good must be paid upfront so that I can purchase materials; otherwise, payment is usually a minimum 30% upfront with the remainder when the work is finished.
- Are price quotes and estimates free?
- Yes, within reason.
Scraps and YCH
- What does “YCH” stand for?
- “Your Character Here.”
- Do you sell the same base scrap to different finishes (“multi-slot” scraps)?
- Not unless stated upfront that a scrap may be “multi-slot”.
